Our promotional video for Zenith Interiors

We all know the saying ‘actions speak louder than words’, right?

With this project we completed for Zenith Interiors, the on-screen action managed to explain its products more succinctly than a long-winded script ever could.

As opposed to our last project with Zenith Interiors (which featured a voiceover as well as smooth and steady 2D animation), we decided to take this product demo in a completely different direction.

The end result is an upbeat, fast-paced, yet equally-effective video showcasing Zenith’s versatile SOL-MIX furniture range without saying a single word.

Multiple scenes for multiple scenarios

“We thought it would be really cool to try something a little different for this video,” said Jumbla Creative Director Callan Woolcock.

Zenith wanted something its sales team could show potential buyers. It needed to include every category of SOL-MIX furniture and demonstrate how each piece could complement the next.

“Rather than the original idea of a narrated script, we figured a lot of the messaging could be communicated with layout design and typographic treatments instead,” Cal said.

Every item of SOL-MIX furniture is showcased in all its glory thanks to realistic 3D renders. For greater context, the audience is also given a glimpse of what each product looks like when paired with the rest of the range.

Numerous imagined scenarios, which appear quickly before moving onto the next, promote the many sides of Zenith’s offering.

“It was very much about highlighting the modular system and how you can chop and change different pieces to create unique layout,” Cal said. 

Easier to assemble than your average flat-pack

“The client supplied us with 3D CAD files of the furniture, so all we needed to do was convert them into OBJ files,” said Cal.

For the animation itself, Cal compiled a team that could execute everything using Element 3D inside of After Effects.

“We needed quick editing, cool transitions, and slick camera movements to conjure up some creative living spaces,” he said.

With no need for a voiceover, the audio could seamlessly match the animation, which cut to the beat with precision.

“Without a script, we could control the length of the piece easily by inserting or removing frames where necessary,” Cal said.

And by some crazy twist of fate, our animation for Zenith drew parallels with the SOL-MIX furniture range itself - versatile and vibrant.
