There are several stages every Jumbla project must go through before it is signed, sealed, and delivered.
Somewhere in-between putting together a proposal and handing over the finished product is the creation of style frames.
This gives the client a true-to-life representation of what the final piece will look and feel like.
It’s also a fun and fulfilling exercise for Jumbla’s animators and motion designers, especially when working on a project like Forza Motorsport 6: Apex.
The following style frames were picked out by Creative Director Cal as his personal favourites.
Against the Elements: The Audi R18 e-tron quattro was the overall and LMP1 class winner at the 2012 24 Hours of Le Mans - the ultimate endurance race
Super Street Heroes: Cars like the Subaru WRX STi bring performance to the people and is an archetypal street racer
Piercing the Dark: The Chevrolet Corvette is an American automotive icon, produced through seven generations since 1953
The Italian Greats: The Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4 or the Ferrari 458 Speciale...which one would you pick?
Pony Car Roundup: The 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 302 epitomises the ‘pony car’ class - compact, highly styled, and performance-orientated
Exclusive Performance: The word exotic goes hand-in-hand with the Mercedes-AMG GT S, Nissan GT-R Black Edition, and Chevrolet Corvette Z06
The power of collaboration
Thankfully, this tall order was well within the reach of Jumbla’s creative talent…
“The client loved our proposal and loved our ideas,” said Cal. “We worked with them to help develop poster frames, going back and forth a lot of the time to ensure we were always on the same page.
“It was a privilege for all of us to actively seek our own individual stamps in interpreting this brief, knowing it would end up forming such a critical aspect of a popular video game.”
