Jumbla Wins Four at the W3 Awards

Written by Jumbla Creative | Nov 28, 2016

Our trophy cabinet’s running out of room… Jumbla has been awarded for our beautiful animation work again – this time at the W³ Awards, based in New York. The awards ceremony honours creative excellence on the web, and recognises the people behind award-winning sites, marketing programs, social content, mobile apps and online video.

We won four trophies all up.

A Silver in the Online Video – Educational category for Deakin; a Silver in Online Video – Animation for Grey Goo; a Gold for Online Video – Animation for Yellow; and a Gold in Online Video – Not for Profit for Polished Man.

We must admit, we’re not too surprised at our success – this is the third time our animation for Polished Man has won big, with the animation previously taking out a Silver in the AEAF Awards, and named an honouree at the very prestigious Webby Awards – known to the industry as ‘The Oscars of the Internet’. Deakin – Ingenious has also been recognised internationally at the Muse Awards, where it was awarded a Platinum award for Motion Graphics, as well as at the Summit International Awards, where it took home a Silver for Educational Institution Video.

The W³ Awards is a particularly big deal.

It prides itself on being industry-encompassing.It’s the first major web competition to be accessible to the biggest agencies and the smallest firms. So, Jumbla was up against the likes of Saatchi & Saatchi, American Express, The Smithsonian, IBM, Yahoo!, and WWE.

But the tough competition doesn’t end there: the W³ Awards are judged by members of AIVA – or, the Academy of Interactive Visual Arts. The Academy is invitation only, and consists of executives from acclaimed media, interactive, advertising and marketing firms – including Disney, HBO, Microsoft, MTV, Victoria’s Secret, and Wired. In determining winners, entries are scored on a 100-point scale by the judges – and less than 10% of all entries will be selected as Gold Winners.

Given these big-name players, high stakes, and the ceremonies international standing – the awards competition, in its 11th year, accepted over 5,000 entries from creative agencies and studios from all over the world – we’re particularly proud to have taken home four awards (two gold trophies, no less!).
