Jumbla Smashes the AEAF Awards | Jumbla

Written by Jumbla Creative | Sep 8, 2016

Woohoo! Jumbla has been awarded for our incredible work once more – this time at the 2016 Animation Effects Awards Festival (AEAF) in Sydney.

Not to get too gushy, but we’re particularly proud of this one. The AEAF Awards is an internationally renowned ceremony, both established and respected in the industry. With the biggest contenders in the animation world entering every year, we were up against some stiff competition – which makes us hugely proud of our amazing results.

We took home no less than three trophies, taking out awards for...

Deakin University - Silver in the Education and Infographics category

Y3llow - Bronze in the Web Viral category

Melbourne Spring Fashion Week - Bronze in the Event Openers category

To add to our achievements (and excitement), we were nominated as finalists for a further three videos: Scottish Water in the Commercials category, AGDA in the Idents & Stings category, and Polished Man in the Web Viral category.

Competing with the best

The AEAF Awards, now in its 19th year, judges the entries based on their technical skill, artistry, the quality of the visual effects and animation, and their contribution to storytelling – so their standards are pretty high, which can be seen in the calibre of the other entrants.

In the Commercial category alone, we were playing alongside such massive global brands as Airbnb, Ray-Ban, Sainsbury’s, Volkswagen, Chipotle and Lego. Other categories saw entries from Netflix, X-Men, Nike, The Hunger Games, Toyota, Ikea, Game of Thrones, MTV, Foxtel, Telstra, and Qantas.

We’re thrilled to be chosen as finalists amongst such huge players – and huge budgets. Competing alongside brands like this, it’s safe to say we’re becoming one of the big guys.

“This time last year we were a finalist in only one category, this year we took home three awards and were a finalist in six categories!” said Jumbla Head of Production Steve Bradshaw. “It’s really exciting to see how far we have come in just 12 months, and an honour to be respected by the industry big shots.”
