Motion Design Internship

The Jumbla internship is a chance for recent graduates to gain first-hand experience in an award-winning animation and motion graphics studio in South Melbourne.

Under the 12-week program, interns will work on a pro-bono project for an Australian charity, from concept to completion.

You’ll rub shoulders with the nation's top short-form animators and learn what working on a 'real-world' brief is really like.

By the end of the program, you can expect a much-improved skillset and a new piece for your showreel.

We receive around 50 applications per intern position, which means we can’t reply to everyone.

However, feel free to keep applying every time you update your showreel, as successful intern candidates are the ones who keep on showing us their increasingly impressive animation abilities.

If you feel you’re not at that level yet and you’d like a helping hand getting there, you may want to try Jumbla Academy on for size.

The 15-week course will help you develop the confidence and competence required to land your dream animation or motion graphics role - just like our internship.

The work

During a Jumbla internship, you won't be treated like slave labour. Instead, we'll guide you through a carefully formulated 12-week program, which aims to build your technical knowledge and speed.

You'll get to work on a real brief and your Australian charity client receives a free animation to promote their worthy cause.

By the end, you'll have the experience and expertise to enter the world of work. Any animation and motion graphics studio would be lucky to have you on board!

FAQs

Is the internship paid?

No. We don't put our interns on paid projects and we won't make any money from your contribution here either. It's all pro-bono work for Australian charities.

What will I learn?

The internship program is designed to rapidly increase your skills in three main areas - speed, technical knowledge of key software, and working to a client brief.

Will I get a job at the end of it?

Maybe. Around half of our interns land jobs with Jumbla at the end of the program. But this doesn't mean it's a walk in the park. You'll need to impress the pants off us with your motion graphics and animation aptitude as well as your work ethic, attitude, and willingness to learn.

Is Jumbla a scary corporate office environment?

Hell no! In fact, you can discover more about what it's like to work at Jumbla here.
