Creative Director

We’re on the hunt for a talented Creative Director who has ambitions to take a young animation and motion graphics studio to the next level.

Our story

After becoming Melbourne’s largest short-form animation studio we took the leap to become international and set up shop in London. Two years on, we’re lucky enough to call the BBC, Barclaycard, Suzuki and Netflix our clients. We’re excited about the future.

This CD will be one of the originals, shaping our culture and creating amazing work, whilst backed by an established award-winning studio.

About the role

We work closely with our amazing clients and we are often their go-to creative thinkers. We're looking for someone experienced in finding new ways to push boundaries, bring our partnerships a creative edge and producing high-end, thought-provoking concepts. You will also be key in winning new work, and should have experience in conceptualising and pitching new ideas.

You're ideal if you're comfortable on and off the tools, making things move beautifully as well as directing others and taking a project to completion.

You’ll also be responsible for building a team of motion designers that can knock briefs out of the park and make our clients grin.

About you

You will be vastly experienced in at least one of the following: design, 2D, 3D or animation. You have a proven track record of winning new business through creative pitches and managing creative teams. You will be able to solve a creative and technical challenge as well as chat with clients and internal/external designers alike.

You're perfect if you have

  • 4 + years experience as creative director, senior animator or equivalent

  • Strong competency in After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign. Experience in C4D is a kicker and we want to hear from you!

  • Experience directing projects and managing a creative team

  • Experience in client meetings (pre-sale and during project meetings)

  • Confidence in mentoring and training junior designers

  • Firm grasp of the industry

  • Experience in cherry picking a team and building a studio from grass-roots would be great but is not essential – who doesn’t love a challenge?!

Why you should join us

  • Fun, exciting, young, rapidly growing company

  • Quarterly and yearly group activities

  • Relaxed work environment with ping pong, air hockey, free fitness classes and wellbeing activities

  • Free brekkie on Mondays, and beer, cider and prosecco on tap everyday (literally)

  • Birthday lunch

  • 25 days holidays plus public holidays
  • We have a friendly office dog who enjoys good tunes and cuddles if you like to give them!

Other benefits

  • Attending and contributing at industry animation events

  • Travel opportunities - we're global!

  • Career development and training programs. Coaching and mentoring is part of the deal.
